INTERNATIONALS - NEW ZEALAND

England v The Colonies

1935-36 Originally planned as a New Zealand v England series, the home team soon realised that they needed
OFFICIAL to be strengthened by two Australians, van Praag and Case, and became "The Colonies". This
series, also known as "Australasia v England" in the contemporary New Zealand press, was
officially sanctioned by the A-C.U in London, and was probably the first Official Test series held
in New Zealand.
