5th.Test Peter Clark excluded from ht 16 for causing Redmond and Wills to crash, and the Commonwealth team rode the rest of the match under protest. Briggs lowered the track record to 76.6
In an unofficial international challenge match at Randfontein on 03.02.55, British Commonwealth (Barry Briggs 12) beat South Africa 39-33. The South African team was Fred Wills , Roy Bester, Henry Long, Alec Blankfield, Doug Davies, Doug Lang, and Trevor Blokdyk. Captains were Wills and Ken McKinlay.
