WHITE CITY, CARDIFF, JULY 17th
Home Riders Defeat English Team
A team from the West Ham Speedway, London, was defeated by the home riders by 38 points to 25. The visitors rode well, but were no match for the Welshmen. Don Taylor (E) took the first heat, and in heat 2 Nick Carter and Nobby Key (W) were first and second. Champ Upham (W) won the next, while Tiger Stevenson (E) beat Carter in the fourth, returning the fastest time of the match, 1min 39secs.
Upham took Race 5, but Maguire and Adams (E) gained the minor positions. Wales were now 3 points ahead. Baker (W) was successful in races 6 and 8, and Taylor took race 7 for England. The final race was well contested, but the home riders gaines first and second places with Key and Carter.

WEST HAM STADIUM, JULY 18th
Tiger's "Benefit Meeting"
Tiger Stevenson rode seven times during the evening and won every event. Such dashing and consistent riding as Tiger put in has seldom been seen, and even when his handicap was reduced from four seconds to three, as the result of his marked improvement, that could not stop him. He won all three heats in the inter-track contest, two heats of a match race with Eric Spencer, his heat, semi-final, and final in the Open handicap. In fact he cleared the board.
Wales brought a fine team to the Stadium. England took the lead from the start, but suffered a slight set back immediately, only to come away and win by the comfortable margin of 23 points, the final score being returned as 43 to 20 points.
